Steve Hunt started playing water polo in the 1970's under Pete Cutino and Steve Heaston (both coached at Cal and U.S. Men's National Teams). Steve played four years of high school at Miramonte in Orinda, CA where he was All America his senior year. He also played four years in college; two at Citrus J.C. and two years at Oregon State University from where he graduated and met his wife-to-be over 25 years ago. Steve was captain of both teams at Citrus and OSU. Steve now lives in Marina, CA with his wife Julie and three children Tyler, Brian, and Sara.

Gary Figueroa Founded the Otterbay Water Polo Foundation with Steve Hunt. Gary has many years played the sport of water polo with distinction at the high school, college and olympic level. After moving to Monterey he continued to give back to the sport by coaching college at CSUMB and UC Santa Cruz as well as high school at Salinas, Notre Dame and Palma High Schools.
Board Member & Coach: Nick Wooler

Nick has played, coached and refereed water polo for over 30+ years. He played high school water polo in Los Angeles at Loyola High School and after graduating from UCLA returned to coach at Loyola from 1991-98. After moving to Monterey in 2001 he coached at Palma and has been on the Otterbay Board since 2017

Sean Raymond grew up in Los Angeles and played High School water polo for legendary coach Rich Corso at Harvard Westlake. He continued playing in college at Cal Polo San Luis Obispo. After moving to Monterey he has continue playing as a member of Otterbay Polo Masters team and joined the board in 2019.
Board Member & Coach: Maggie Albers

Maggie Albers grew up in Monterey and played her high school water polo at Monterey High School. Maggie continued playing water polo at the University of Hawaii. Maggie also played at CSUMB for legendary coach Gary Figueroa. Maggie has given back to the sport as a coach at both Carmel and Monterey High School. Maggie joined the Otterbay Board in 2020 to start the womens program.
